Beginners’ Courses & Regular Classes

2-week Intensive “Learn to Nordic Walk for Fitness” courses:

These 2-week courses are aimed at 18+ women and men who are already physically active and wish to learn the safe and effective Nordic Walking technique to improve their fitness & to complement an existing fitness regime. We will learn the safe & effective basic Nordic Walking technique and explore the progressive technique, and try out a bit of Nordic Running & Skipping too!

The next courses commence as follows:

Date: Sunday 6th & 13th August 2017

Time: 11:15 – 12:45

Location: Hilly Fields Park, Lewisham

 

Date: Sunday 10th & 17th September 2017

Time: 11:15 – 12:45

Location: Hilly Fields Park, Lewisham

Places are limited to 6 to allow for more individual tuition, and minimum 4 participants are required for a course to run. Poles are provided. Course fee £45.

Courses run on Sunday mornings at Hilly Fields Park in Brockley, Lewisham.

FREE “Learn To Nordic Walk for Health” courses:

These free 4-week courses are funded by Lewisham Council and are part of the Lewisham Healthy Walks scheme. The courses are aimed at currently physically inactive Lewisham residents who wish to become more active & healthier as a result.

The next 4-week beginners’ courses commence and run as follows:

Date: Saturday 2nd September (9th, 16th & 23rd)

Time: 10:15 – 11:15am

Location: Ladywell Fields Park, Lewisham

 

Date: Saturday 7th October (14th, 21st & 28th)

Time: 10:15 – 11:15am

Location: Ladywell Fields Park, Lewisham

These courses are aimed at physically inactive adults (18+) who reside in Lewisham and who do not currently take part in any regular exercise due to health or economic reasons. Those individuals who do not fit the above criteria are encouraged to sign up for the Nordic Walking for Fitness courses.

Participants must be able to attend at least three out of the four consecutive sessions offered, and must not miss the first two sessions of the course as these are vital for learning the foundations of the safe and effective Nordic Walking technique.

Places are limited to 12 & booking is essential. Once full, a waiting list will be in operation. Please contact Laura at brockleynordicwalking@gmail.com to reserve a place.


Regular Nordic Walking sessions:

These regular mixed-level open sessions are available to walkers who have completed a Learn To Nordic Walk course.

Time: 09:00 – 10:00am

Location: Ladywell Fields Park, Lewisham

Date: Sundays

Time: 10:00 – 11:00am

Location: Hilly Fields Park, Brockley, Lewisham

Poles are provided for all sessions but as spaces are limited prior booking is required! Please contact Laura to enquire.


1-2-1, Small Group & Workplace Nordic Walking sessions:

If your schedule does not allow for course attendance or you prefer to learn at your own pace at a time that suits you, why not book a 1-2-1 class with Laura to learn the basics of Nordic Walking technique?
